Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in the style that is his own. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's title is Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue an interest in music, singing and playing the piano at the church. She was a student at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B styles of Atlanta. She was the main pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the choir leader of the production. Sunshine was the subject of national media interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
